Experience

PhD Researcher — EDLab, Tel-Aviv University

October 2019 – April 2026
  • Developed a characterization method to optimize solar-cell efficiencies and semiconductor devices using device physics, modeling and experiments.
  • Led complex projects involving experiments, setup building, calibration, debugging and performance validation; identified solution paths for complex problems.
  • Built simulation models (COMSOL) to couple experimental results with device simulations.
  • Designed, built and calibrated custom characterization setups, including precision spectroscopic measurements; performed systematic root-cause analysis of experimental results.
  • Developed automation code for data processing and visualization, connecting multiple instruments for complex measurements; built a software GUI for user control.
  • Collaborated with international groups; presented at international conferences.
  • Published peer-reviewed research in ACS Applied Energy Materials.

Teaching Assistant - Advanced Semiconductors Course and Lab, Tel-Aviv University

2021 - 2025
  • Taught class recitation sessions for 30 students. Redesigned the course structure and teaching approach around students' curiosity and creativity, contributing to a full course reconstruction that had not previously been done at the university.
  • Developed online interactive apps for students using MATLAB GUI tools, creating intuition-building tools for semiconductor physics that are still used in multiple university courses.
  • Guided students through semiconductor device experiments and data analysis, improving their understanding of device physics, experimental methods and measurement accuracy.

Mechanical Design Engineer — Biorobotics & Biomechanics Lab, Technion

2017 – 2018
  • Designed and developed a miniature mechanism to fit under a shoe, withstanding heavy loads — collaboration with AposHealth on orthopedic treatment.
  • Custom worm-gear design and manufacturing.

Undergraduate Research Assistant — Biophysics Lab, Technion

2017 – 2018
  • Researched the regeneration of a micro-organism in an Agar environment using image analysis and particle tracking in MATLAB.

R&D Mechanical Design Engineer

2012 - 2015
  • Led the full product development cycle from concept to realization of precision opto-mechanical mechanisms.
  • Designed miniature mechanical structures, including kinematic connections, fine mechanical movements at nanometer scale, flexible connections, miniature fasteners, electronic connections and redundancy.
  • Designed moving mechanical assemblies including gears, motors, couplings, bearings and slides, using parts from companies such as THK, Thomson, PIC, Faulhaber, NKF, NSK, IKO and PI.
  • Designed for robust operating conditions, including vibration and temperature requirements.
  • Worked extensively in CAD, including SolidWorks, technical drawings, tolerances, GD&T and redundancy planning.
  • Designed for manufacturing across manual and CNC milling, lathes, sheet metal, NX, 3D rapid prototyping and laser cutting, with experience using 6061 aluminum, 303, 304, 316L and 17-4 PH.
  • Conducted prototype testing and performance verification.
  • Collaborated across multidisciplinary engineering teams.
  • Translated technical input into actual products.
