Wafer holder for flush positioning with gentle hendling
For the PL experiments we used a large wafer sample (half of a 2" wafer) This needed to be positioned as close as possible on the integrating sphere without breaking. off-the-shelf holders never quite fit out samples. For this, I designed the holder with 2 contact faces to allow for accurate and repeatable positioning. The holder upper part consistant of two small sponge pads for soft holding the sample. The parts were designed in SolidWorks and printed in a 3D printer.

Repeatable position every time
The holder is easy to load, easy to align, mates with the existing sample holder attachment of the integrating sphere without any modifications to the sphere. It was a small piece of hardware but a big upgrade for the lab.
